The 4th annual maternity & infant awards took place at the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin, on November 18th, 2011, and were a great success! With the support of our headline partner, SMA Nutrition, the 2011 awards were bigger and better than ever, and next year we hope to build on this success yet again.
The SMA Nutrition maternity & infant awards celebrate the very best in products and services for mothers and babies in Ireland, offering parents a unique opportunity to vote for their favourite products across 15 categories. The awards also honour the inspirational people living among us throughout Irish Society that would otherwise go unnoticed. Awards are presented to those who face challenges on a daily basis, brave children who act beyond their years, and those who show tremendous courage whilst facing serious illnesses. We introduced several new categories in 2011, including Lactation Consultant of the Year, Best Family Friendly Supermarket, as well as three categories specifically for crèches: Community Crèche of the Year, Private Crèche of the Year, and Best Crèche – Multiple Providers.
The public have the opportunity to nominate a person they know who deserves recognition through the following categories; mum, dad, grandparents, baby story, child hero, little champion and many more! We also commend members of the medical profession who have gone that extra mile in caring for mums and babies. You can nominate an inspirational person in your life for an award starting in June, 2012.
The public also has the chance to have their say and vote for the best products and services available in Ireland for mums, babies, and young families. The 2011 awards had a record number of public votes – over 63,000 parents across Ireland made their choice and played a part in recognizing the best there is to offer in the maternity sector. Public voting will begin again in June, 2012.
