The Local Authority Member’s Association (LAMA) Awards in association with IPB are now in their 6th year. The awards recognise excellence in the work of local authorities in Ireland, allowing councilors across the country the opportunity to nominate innovative projects, developments and individuals who have impacted the local community. These awards acknowledge the well planned and expertly executed projects that enhance our daily lives, showcasing the very best social and economic projects, communication strategies and campaigns, building developments of the past year, and the most innovative local authorities.
Over time, we have revamped and revised the categories to reflect society’s needs, and several new categories have been introduced for the 2012 awards including: Best Education Building, Best Healthcare Building, Best Public Campaign by a Governmental Body, and Best Tourist Attraction.
2012 finalists have now been announced, and you can see a full list of finalists on our website at www.lamaawards.org. The award ceremony will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, on February 11th, 2012, where 20 unique awards will be presented to worthy winners. Hosted once again by Miriam O’Callaghan, the awards will be attended by over 600 people including councilors, city and county managers, local authority members and management teams, and the LAMA Executive and representative members. All attendees will be wowed by this glitzy event, making it the highlight of the year in every local authority’s calendar.
