Lawa awards The inaugural Irish Law Awards 2012 will identify and honour the outstanding performances of law practitioners, legal firms, academics, executives and students throughout Ireland who have achieved excellence within the legal profession in 2011. Partnering with the Solicitors Benevolent Fund, the Peter McVerry Trust, and the Bar Benevolent Fund, and boasting an esteemed adjudication panel, legal professionals will be nominated, judged, and honoured by their colleagues through these awards.

The Irish Law Awards 2012 have officially launched, and nominations are now welcome in each of the 24 categories until February 22nd, 2012. For details on how to nominate a worthy colleague, legal firm, or institution, please visit www.irishlawawards.ie.

From February 22nd onwards, all nominations for the 2012 awards will be judged by an esteemed adjudication panel made up of former practitioners and legal experts. Each of the 10 judges will review every nomination, with Chairman, Dr. Eamonn Hall, overseeing the adjudication process. The winners will be announced at the Award ceremony itself, which will take place on May 4th, 2012 in the Shelbourne Hotel hosted by Miriam O Callaghan.

The Irish Law Awards 2012 will be the first event of its kind in Ireland, meaning Ireland will join many other European countries in recognizing reputable and high achieving individuals, firms and institutions within the legal sector. The Awards will provide a platform for the legal profession to make contact with its key audiences – industry, business and public. They will also be used as an informational and educational platform for those within the industry. The region’s most influential in-house counsel, private practitioners, investment bankers and business leaders will assemble at the Awards ceremony, to celebrate with the winners as they accept their coveted Irish Law Award.
