TITLE: FireCall. Ireland’s only official firefighting journal, distributed to over 1,000 firefighters and industry professionals nationwide.

BRIEF: FireCall is a quarterly publication, and is the chief communication tool for firefighters, Chief Fire Officers, fire stations and key decision-makers all over Ireland. An informative and highly valued publication, its content deals with the key issues that affect firefighters, from in-depth reports on training and firefighting techniques both nationally and internationally, to Club news, Watch schedules and social events.

CHALLENGE: To provide a communication tool for firefighters across the country and circulate information on key fire and rescue issues. In 2005 the magazine underwent a complete redesign to reflect the ever-changing requirements of a modern fire and rescue service.

SOLUTION: Ashville Media has built upon the long tradition behind FireCall, which began life as ‘Brigade Call’ in 1971. Today’s publication combines in-depth reports on new fire and rescue techniques, updates on legislative changes in the firefighting arena and a wealth of interest pieces to create a stimulating read. FireCall is a specialist magazine that is uniquely regarded for appealing to anyone involved in the Emergency Medical Services as much as firefighters.

RESULTS: FireCall is an integral part of life for the Irish fire services. It is viewed as the essential communication tool by each new wave of recruits who graduate. The publication has become a vital tool for informing firefighters of events throughout the year and is central in showcasing and highlighting new equipment, techniques and legislation that will directly affect their work.
